Nomination Letter Text

Cut and paste the following text and print it onto your institution's letterhead:

Congratulations!

You have been nominated to be a presenter at the upcoming Teachers Teaching Teachers Professional Development Conference in Cranberry Township, PA on March 28, 2007. School administrators across Western PA have been asked to select outstanding teachers from their school districts to present at this event and you have been selected!!!

Of course, the decision to present is completely up to you. If after learning more about the event, you are interested in presenting, please complete the enclosed form that outlines the content of what you would like to present. Mail the form to EduLink at the address on the form. A selection committee will review all of the information from each nominee and select the presenters.

To help you decide if you would like to present, here are some details about the Teachers Teaching Teachers event:

The Venue

The event will be held at the Regional Learning Alliance Conference & Learning Center in Cranberry Township. This is truly one of the region’s nicest and most technologically advanced facilities. It is brand new, and it is an amazing place to teach and learn.

The Presenters

The driving force behind this entire series is the teachers in the school districts in Western PA. Teachers have made the following point very clear year after year – “The greatest in-services/workshops are presented by high-quality teachers that are in the classrooms every day.” The Teachers Teaching Teachers series provides an opportunity for these outstanding teachers to share their expertise with fellow teachers in Western PA. Each presenter will be sharing their very best practices that have proven to be successful in their classrooms.

The ONLY presenters that have been considered for the Teachers Teaching Teachers series are from nominations by school administrators. We have reached out to administrators all across Western PA and asked them to nominate teachers to present at this event.

The Content

The ONLY topics that will be presented at the event are practical, usable, accessible ideas and strategies. The most important guideline for determining the topics that will be presented is: Can the teachers go back to their classrooms tomorrow and use the idea? There is a time and place for theory and generalities – this event is not that place. The focus of this series is 100% real, practical, ideas that have already been proven to work successfully in the classroom.

The Audience

you will be presenting up to (but no more than) 25 fellow teachers. These are teachers from school districts across Western PA that have signed up for your particular session. Each session is approximately one hour and twenty minutes long.

As a presenter, you will receive:

• Recognition as being nominated to present best practices to teachers throughout Western PA.
• Act 48 hours* (minimum of 14 hours, possibly more – depending on preparation time involved)
• Certificate from Teachers Teaching Teachers professional development series
• Free admission to the upcoming Teachers Teaching Teachers event
• Recognition on official Teachers Teaching Teachers website
• Personal satisfaction that you took part in making significant change in education throughout Western PA

* EduLink is an approved Act 48 Provider in PA.
