Teachers Teaching Teachers
Don’t Miss the Second Annual TTT Conference: March 28, 2007
Register Today! (Seats will fill up quickly!!)
Teachers Teaching Teachers (affectionately known as
TTT) is an exciting new professional development opportunity
for elementary, middle, and high school teachers who
teach in Western Pennsylvania. TTT was created from
the fundamental idea that there is an abundance of outstanding
teachers right here in Western Pennsylvania that have
great teaching techniques, and that use best practices,
methods and strategies that have been proven to work
in their classrooms. TTT offers these master teachers
a venue to share their insights, ideas, methods and
expertise with fellow teachers.
TTT is designed to go well beyond what we, as educators,
are accustomed to. It is the beginning of a series of
conferences and events that will provide teachers from
Western Pennsylvania with an opportunity to network
with, learn from, and honor their peers. TTT is designed
to provide teachers with useable, practical, time-tested
ideas that have been proven to work successfully in
the classrooms.
The Teachers Teaching Teachers Professional Development Series will launch its second annual conference on March 28, 2007 at the beautiful new Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Township, PA.
Here are some of the components that will make this
an extraordinary event for teachers…
The Venue
The Regional
Learning Alliance Conference & Learning Center
in Cranberry Township is truly one of the region’s
nicest and most technologically advanced facilities.
It is the premier conference and learning center in
Western Pennsylvania and it is an amazing place to teach
and learn.
The Presenters
The driving force behind TTT is the teachers in the
school districts in Western PA. Teachers have made the
following point very clear year after year:
"The greatest in-services/workshops
are presented by high-quality teachers that are in the
classrooms every day."
TTT provides an opportunity for these outstanding teachers
to share their expertise with fellow teachers in Western
PA.
The Content
The only topics
that will be presented at the event are practical, usable,
accessible ideas and strategies. The most important
guideline for determining the topics that will be presented
is: Can the teachers go back to their classrooms
tomorrow and use the idea? There is a time and
place for theory and generalities – TTT is not
that place. The focus of TTT is 100% real, practical,
ideas that have already been proven to work successfully
in the classroom.
The Follow Up
Even the greatest one-day conference in the world can
only go so far to significantly improve education. Experience
tells us that typically, teachers will leave a conference
and return to their busy schedules in the classrooms
the next day without scheduling time to share what they
have learned with their fellow teachers. TTT builds
in a Pay it Forward component
that encourages and rewards (earn Act 48 hours) teachers
for extending what they have learned into not only their
classroom but also other classrooms in their district.
The learning does not stop at the end of the day. It
will be extended back into the school districts so that
hundreds, even thousands of teachers will benefit!
Call for Presenters
The only presenters
that will be considered for the TTT conference come
from nominations by school administrators and educational
leaders. We are reaching out to administrators all across
Western PA and asking them to nominate outstanding teachers
to present at the TTT conferences.
